#381- Rock Salt 32.1' x 10'

Lineage:

This design was derived from our Rock Salt 34' center console design and it shares the same beam and deep V hull. Featuring an unusual island (walk-around) house with cuddy, this kit was built by The Welded Boat Co.

Several iterations of the shorter, Rock Salt 28'-32' designs have been built by builders that range from Texas to Oregon and New York. It is designed for twin outboards of 225hp and up and for center console or small house arrangements. However, with some tweaking and depending upon other weight changes, it might be easily revised to handle a forward house with cuddy cabin, such as #398. A 28' island house version is on the boards for Sound Marine in 2020.

The transom treatments vary on our Rock Salt designs- Some are full displacement, some are partially cut-way, and some are, in effect, transom brackets. The choice is user preference, though we find that these transom details can be an effective way to adjust a design for specific weight distributions.
