#336- 20.2' x 7'  Flat Bottom

Lineage:

This 20' flat bottomed, hull design has been built by Chester Boatworks and is a derivation of our design #300.  This kit is 1' skinnier and has the transom sculpted to provide for forward mounting of the engine.  Unlike similar engine-forward designs the hull outboard of fthe engines is not carried to the hull bottom, and as a result this design lessens the flooding issues associated with similar engine pod designs when backing down or in a following chop.

It is constructed entirely of 1/4" plate, though 3/16" is available as a substitute.  As with most of our flat-bottomed landing craft the bottom has 3" x 1 1/2" (deep) channels running fore and aft along the bottom.  These channels provide panel stiffening and protection, but they also improve tracking and efficiency- the latter by virtue of trapping air between the channels at speed.

The NC cutting kit is available with or without a fuel tank, helm console and leaning post, and of course custom design kits with any degree of changes are available.
