#524A, 31.3' x 11.8'- Cat/Tri Landing Craft- SubChapter T- 28+2
Background:
This design kit is a close sister of our #524 design. This version was originally built by Viking Welding for Save the Bay's marine science programs in the environs of Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. Rosemary Quinn is USCG Subchapter T certified for 28 passengers plus 2 crew on a Partially Protected Route. Essentially the same hull is also built with a different deck and shelter arrangement (our #525B design) as a 40 passenger water taxi for Protected waters.
Twin side dive doors, large roof, and convertible bench/sampling table are but a few of the features that make this a highly customized design for coastal marine research, education and exploration. As built, there is an enclosed head and a combination of fixed and hinged seating for 28 passengers.
