#436, 20.4'  x 8.1''  Flat Bottom Landing Craft

Lineage:

This 20.4' flat bottomed, hull design kit features a landing craft bow door (4' clear opening), and the version shown above includes a large console with roof and leaning post as well as a side dive door.  As with most of our flat-bottomed landing craft the bottom has 3" x 1 1/2" (deep) channels running fore and aft along the bottom.  These channels provide panel stiffening and protection, but they also improve tracking and efficiency- the latter by virtue of trapping air between the channels at speed.  Variants of this hull have been built in various gunwale, console and door configurations by several builders including Viking Welding and Chester Boat Works. The hull shown was built as a dive rescue boat by Viking Welding.  Naturally it can be built with larger (up to about 4'6") bow door opening or a fixed bow, as well as with different (or no) side dive doors.

Power has generally been single 75-90 hp outboards, though larger (or twin) engines are possible.

The NC cutting kit is available with or without a fuel tank, helm console and leaning post, and any level of customization.

Our existing range of flat bottom landing craft is 20', 24', 28' and 33', and other dimensions are easily  developed.
